Iris not blooming

My EasyBloom indicates that my irises are planted in the correct area but none of them are blooming. What can I do for them?
Hey Gwen....I have a couple of questions for you first. Is this the first season that you have planted these Irises? Have your Irises bloomed in the past? Also, have you fertilized lately? Finally, I'm curious what the pH of your soil is. Just let me know what you know and I'd be more than happy to help you to the best of my ability. :) Thanks...Robby.
Robby, thank you. These irises have been here for several years, I think. We just moved in 18 mo. ago. They bloomed in the past and I think would have last year but while we were on vacation "someone" ate all of the buds!! I haven't fertilized. I'm fairly new to gardening and I'm not sure of how to check the ph. Thank you for any help you can give me!!!
"Someone" ate all the buds? I'm assuming that "someone" may be a deer or two? :) First thing I would recommend is to fertilize. I would purchase a typical fertilizer you would find at a garden center. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Most importantly, follow the directions on the box. I think a lot of gardeners use the thinking that if a little bit a fertilizer makes a plant look good, that must mean a LOT of fertilizer will make the plant look great. That isn't the case however. It is definitely possible to "burn" the plant with too much fertilizer. I hope this is helpful. Happy Gardening! --Robby
Robby Thank you for your help. I'm on my way to get fertilizer now! And, yes, the "someone" is probably several deer!! They are in the yard all the time! Thanks! Gwen
