ability to add a plant if is not in the database

Hello, it would be great if i could add plants that are not in the database. I have a discksonia antartica and a cyathea cooperi, which are not present in the database but i do know what are the requirements for this plants. It would be nice if you offer an interface to add my plants as a customized plant to my plant. To customize the plant users could provide the plants moisture requirements, temperature requirements, sun requirements etc... for their specific zone. This should be a pretty easy add.
I second this request! So far I haven't found any of the plants I've searched for in your database (rose 'Autumn Sunset', buddleia 'Miss Ruby', white angel's trumpet, ferns 'Ghost' and 'Autumn Brilliance'). I tend to get "collector's items" when I'm selecting new plants, and it would be nice to be able to add them.
I was given this device for Christmas and it is a nice idea but so far the database has not recognized many of the plants I am growing. Even some common species don't seem to be in here.
I fourth this, there are a lot of plants I grow that I am familiar with the exact needs of the plant and though we can use monitor to check for these needs it would be far nicer to be matching these readings up with plants. The plants I am working with have been hit or miss, the house plants have been in the data base but most of the edible plants have not as I tend to raise specialty varieties. I can appreciate the impossibility of trying to enter the specifics for every single plant someone out there may be interested in growing but it may not be a bad idea to add a user contributed database, that could denote that the plants data had not been verified by the myfolia team. It would be nice if we could see an answer from one of the myfolia team to see if this idea is in the works or not.
The first plant I checked is a soundless serentry orchid. It is not listed in the database. What now?
HI- 1) If you're monitoring an edible plant (like lettuce), the light/water/temperature needs are fairly constant across culitvars. We provide different cultivars as a convenience. So even if we don't have your exact cultivar, you can monitor a similar variety. 2) We're constantly adding plants--orchids are particularly tricky as they are NOT similar across the species. 3) This is good feedback about what our users want...we're listening. i too would like to be able to have a list of plants that are not currently in the database. i dont necessarily need to add the information for the plant other than the name. then, at a later login, the plant library could have a msg that a new plant had been added to the library that matched a previous entry for me. i could at that time, add the plant to the library or tick a box that it wasn't an exact match. otherwise, im having to maintain two lists of plants
Take a picture of your plant and send it in so it can be posted in the plant data base. The info is here just send to plants@plantsense.com
I agree with everyone. There are many plants & trees around my house and yard that aren't in the database. I also wish plants were listed with all their common names: Thanksgiving cactus, for instance, I've always known as Christmas cactus, yet a search of that name yields no results.
Does anyone know the scientific name for "Skippy Yellow Viola" [This is the label on the plant stake]? I tried a database search for "Viola" with no success, so I'd like to try a search using the scientific name, if I can find it.
