General Gardening » Confusing instruction
I am a first time user of EasyBloom. I want to monitor my bell pepper. Instruction: Water the plant to the root zone. Leave the EasyBloom in for one watering cycle. When i soaked the plant initially, I altered the watering cycle. I water every 3 days, but I don't know when in the watering cycle did I start the test. When should I read the EasyBloom results?

Hi Daniel! Sorry for the delay in responding to your inquiry. This actually sounds like more of a technical issue than a botany issue, if I've understood you correctly. Once you've plugged your sensor in at the end of a reading, your web browser should automatically launch and show you that reading's feedback. Please let me know if this is not the case, by submitting our Support form or sending an email to support[at]plantsense[dot]com.
Technical Help » ground glowing?
Hi Heather, I must say, this is a really interesting question. We have not seen or heard any other reports of glowing soil in conjunction with EasyBloom. The LED does light up for a second or so when you press the stop button. Do you think you may have seen light from the LED illuminating the ground? Keep us posted! Matt
Technical Help » Maximum hours recorded in Recommend mode?
Hi Sandra, Great question! There is no need to deploy the sensor for more than 24 hours in Recommend mode. We have developed patent-pending algorithms that normalize any reading that is less than three weeks to the previous three weeks weather data. So if you leave the sensor out on a cloudy day, but the previous 20 days were sunny, EasyBloom tweaks the light reading up to what it would have been if you left the sensor out a full three weeks. We spent quite a bit of time figuring this out, so you don't have to wait three weeks for recommendations. Cheers! Matt
I know that PH is important for azaleas and blueberries, but most of the plants that I am interested in grow well in a wide range of PH readings. The honey locust that the city planted on the terrace creates shade that changes throughout the day. A light sensor that records readings and then loads them into my computer, wouldn't that be nice? The Easy Bloom does this. It is the only device I can find that does this. For less than I would spend on that cute little trellis I have been coveting. A probe that measures soil ph? They got those. For four hundred dollars!
Technical Help » Maximum hours recorded in Recommend mode?
So you can take a reading anywhere from 24 hours to three weeks? Will the recommendations change much after two days? a week? two weeks? I guess I don't want to tie up my sensor for three weeks UNLESS I get more refined recommendations.

Feature Ideas » Changes to Find That Plant
Could you fix the "Find a Plant" to "find" something you already planted and the seed packet blew/disentegrated away?? :( I have some I planted that are beauties, but no one knows what they are. Several people have them, but none know what they are.
Technical Help » Water getting in where USB connects to sensor
Each time I pull the USB from the top of the sensor out, I notice lots of moisture in and around the USB and the USB "holder" (including brown yucky stuff building up in there). I've been using a q-tip to soak up the moisture and clean the gunk. I make sure the connection is tight before monitoring any plant, to no avail. I live in Southern Louisiana, and I do have an irrigation system. The monitor has NOT been submerged, and the water is not directly hitting the monitor. Please - need suggestions as I love this thing, and do not want to waste the $$$ I spent on it.
Ask the Plant Doctor » million dollar bell flowers
I believe it has always gone by the name Million Bells. I have never heard of the "dollar" used. it is a form of petunia, I think. == johnna And yes, you can cut it back when it gets leggy (dead head it). It will come out really well when the weather cools off a little.
