Plant Care
Planting:
Propagate by division in spring.
Plant Growth:
Bamboo does well in full sun or partial shade. Grows best in woodlands. Works nicely in a border among smaller shrubs, or as a screen.
Soil and Irrigation:
Bamboo should be planted in a rich mix and a sufficient amount of organic material should be added. Plant requires regular water during growth.
Fertilization:
Fertilize monthly with balanced liquid fertilizer.
Pests:
Slugs and snails are a threat to young roots. Other problems include stem smut and rust, both of which are quite common.
